  1. Writer / Director: Shon Dale-Jones

    As Artistic Director of Hoipolloi, Shon writes, directs, performs and teaches for the company. He has written and directed nine comic plays; The Naked King of the Morning, backwash, Dead on the Ground, Living Like Victor, sweet bobabola, Marry Maria, My Uncle Arly, The Man Next Door, Floating and Story of a Rabbit as well as Ablaze! – a site-specific event.

    He has performed in most productions, touring throughout the UK and Europe, as well as USA and The Philippines. He taught to a wide variety of groups in the UK – ranging from young children to professional actors, and has run workshop programmes in USA, Belgium and The Philippines. Recently, along with Associate Director Stefanie Mueller, he has established Hoipolloi Lab - to research and develop the company’s work and Hoipolloi Mash - to produce non-touring work and work in other media.

  2. Designer / Performer: Stefanie Muller

    Stefanie trained at the University of Basel and at the International School of Theatre Jacques Lecoq, in Paris. Since co-founding Hoipolloi in 1994, Stefanie has designed and performed in all but one of the company’s productions, touring throughout the UK and Europe, as well as the USA and The Philippines. Stefanie has previously worked with companies in Britain, France and Switzerland as an actress, designer and workshop leader.

    Recent work outside Hoipolloi includes The Red Ladies with The Clod Ensemble, Clare’s Walk for Menagerie Theatre and the Hugh Hughes productions of Floating and Story of a Rabbit.
